Anime @ Lakewood Public Library - CPL Anime Events! |
|
Dear Lakewood Anime fans,
It has been an absolute pleasure running our anime club in the past, and maintaining this anime website since 2001. We didn't get to update as much as we would have liked, however you, the public sent us a lot of great support through email and comments at our anime showings. Anime has grown in leaps and bounds in the years since we began Anime @ LPL. Anime conventions flourish, Manga can be found through libraries everywhere across the coast. Adult Swim has shown titles we have never imagined would air on cable tv. ADV created the Anime Network, (which can be found in an on-demand format in our local cable market.) A former LPL employee, Mike Beargie and I, worked for years to help Anime standout in Lakewood, to which we feel pretty good about what we accomplished. We brought you an all-day festival in which we showed anime, offered a video game room, Cosplay Masquerade, Fan Art contests, even game shows like Anime name that tune. That was the beginning, we followed with several all-weekend festivals that geared more to showing Anime, including many surprises and gifts for the public. Today I write for the final time on behalf of Anime @ LPL as I leave to pursue other ventures in my life, others in which I hope can teach me as much as everyone here at the Lakewood Public Library has. It's been a wonderful seven years of working for Lakewood, and maintaining this page, including all our other Anime related programming was an honor, and a great happiness to be able to combine one of my favorite passions with the place that I worked. What lies in store for Anime @ LPL? I can't say for sure as of yet. Our pages aren't going anywhere. I hope, but am pretty sure we'll be able to find someone else as passionate about anime (hopefully even more!) to be able to continue what Mike and I started so many years ago. I'll be sure to stay tuned to these pages, as I hope many of you will, in anticipation of the further anime related programming to take place in Lakewood. Perhaps I can even drop a message off from time to time. Thank you Lakewood for reading manga, masquerading with us, drawing fanart, listening to j-pop and j-rock, and watching Anime! Forever Lakewood Anime @ LPL writer and Anime fan, P.S. Here's some links to keep you busy! Enjoy!
