Number How many satellite dishes can I have on my property? One (1) satellite dish for a single, two or three family dwelling.

No more than three (3) satellite dishes can be placed on a multi-family lot or a property used for commercial or industrial use.

Location--- Can I place my satellite dish / receiving antenna in the front yard? No. Satellite dishes / antennas cannot be mounted in the front or side yard areas.
Can I place the satellite dish on my roof? Yes, but the roof-mounted dish shall be located as near to the rear property line as possible.
Are there any other requirements associated with the location of my satellite dish / receiving antenna? Yes, a ground mounted satellite dish / receiving antenna not attached to the principal or an accessory structure shall be screened by shrubbery or other landscaping.
I would like to mount my satellite dish / receiving antenna on a tower on my roof, are there any height restrictions? Yes, no antenna or satellite dish shall project more than twelve (12) feet above the highest point of the roof of the principle structure.
Size What is the largest size satellite dish or receiving antenna I can install on my property? The maximum length or diameter of any satellite dish or antenna (exclusive of structural supports) shall not exceed twelve (12) feet.

Do I need construction drawings to secure a permit? Yes
Construction Are there any restrictions on the construction of my satellite dish / receiving antenna? Yes it needs to withstand wind loads of:
  1. Eighty-five (85) miles per hour when located on a lot north of the center line of Lake Avenue
  2. Seventy (70) miles per hour when located on any other lot within the city.
  3. Engineer drawing may be needed to verify wind loads.
Exemptions  - The provisions shown above shall not apply to a (receive-only) satellite dish / receiving antenna which:
  1. Is six (6) feet or less in diameter and is, or is proposed to be, located in any commercial or industrial district.
  2. Or is three (3) feet or less in diameter for a residential district.
