The Seventh-Day Adventist Church
Adventism, in general, is based on the belief that the second coming of Jesus Christ is the only hope for the world. Members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church share this conviction. This church gathers for worship on Saturday, holding to the belief that the 7th day as mentioned in the fourth commandment is Saturday.
The basic teachings of the church supports religious liberty, the human body as the temple of the Holy Spirit, abstaining from alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and the promiscuous use of drugs. The Seventh-Day Adventist Church teaches the personal, visible return of Christ "at a time unknown but close at hand." Baptism by immersion and feet washing are practiced.
Adventists are filled with confidence and hope for God's Future. As they wait, they are a devout, disciplined people who practice a wholesome personal and family life, a life of obedience to God and the evangelization of the whole world.
