The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
Commonly referred to as the Mormon Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a world-wide organization whose central mission is to invite all to "come unto Christ" and partake of his grace, without which there would be no salvation. Accordingly, our first principles are "Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ" and "Repentance." Our primary ordinances are "Baptism by immersion" and the "Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost."
"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience and allow all men the same privilege." We strive to follow the teachings of the Savior, to "Let [our] light so shine before men, that they may see [our] good works, and glorify [our] Father which is in heaven." (Matt. 5:16)
While our world-wide organization is centrally administered, all local leadership, teachers, and other volunteers are called from among the congregations wherein they reside.
