The West End Project is described by the City of Lakewood as a "mixed-use urban 'lifestyle' center." It represents the single largest development project in the history of the city. On November 4 Lakewood voters considered two ballot issues: Issue 47 (a vote on the proposed West End Redevelopment) and Issue 48 (a change to the City Charter to make future urban renewal and development projects subject to voter approval). Issues surrounding the proposed project, especially the use of eminent domain and the statutory designation of "blight," have provoked a great deal of debate in our community and interest from outside. Listed here are resources to assist in researching matters associated with this redevelopment project.
