The Ohio Law and Government page includes the print versions of the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code, Rules of Court, and books concerning specific areas of Ohio law. There is a directory of Ohio public officials, cities, townships, and counties. There are links to online versions of the Ohio Constitution, Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Administrative Code, Ohio's official Web site, the General Assembly's site, court decisions, government agencies, and major Ohio political parties. A link to the Register of Ohio, which includes notices of proposed Ohio regulations, is also available.

Books

Baldwin’s Ohio Revised Code, Annotated: Contains the Ohio Constitution, statutes passed by the Ohio General Assembly, and the U.S. Constitution. The ORC includes General Provisions and 32 Titles (subjects). An index and user's guide are provided.
Ohio Legislative Service: Monthly update of the Ohio Revised Code.
Ohio Administrative Code: Contains the rules and regulations created by Ohio administrative agencies.
Ohio Monthly Record: Monthly update of the Ohio Administrative Code.
Ohio Rules of Court, 2 Vols.: The Federal Rules volume includes rules of the Sixth Circuit, Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, and other rules. The State Rules volume includes Ohio Rules of Civil, Criminal, and Juvenile Procedure; Evidence; Traffic Rules; Court of Claims; Appellate Procedure; Local Appellate Rules; Common Pleas Court Rules; and more.
The Law & You: A Handbook of General and Everyday Law Affecting Ohio Citizens: This book is written for the non-lawyer. It discusses the sources of law, the courts, legal procedure, the role of the lawyer, and specific areas of law, such as criminal law, contracts, business organizations, probate, and family law.
Baldwin’s Ohio Handbook Series: Examines various legal subjects through an analysis of statutes, court cases, and regulations. Includes an index and tables of cases, laws, and rules. A bibliography is provided in some volumes.
Baldwin’s Ohio Practice: Provides practical explanations of specific legal subjects. Tables and indexes included. Civil practice and probate have forms.
Baldwin's Ohio School Law: a Complete Guide to Law and Fiscal Procedure Jollay, Lewis & Buchter, 3 Vols.: Includes the complete text of Title 33 of the Ohio Revised Code (Education and Libraries); selected provisions from Titles 35-61 of the ORC and the Ohio Constitution; Ohio Administrative Rules; a calendar and forms for school officials; tables; and an index.
Baldwin's Ohio Tax Law and Rules, 3 Vols.: Includes tax forms; the Tax Commissioner's rules and bulletins; the Board of Tax Appeals' rules; provisions from the Ohio Constitution and Ohio Revised Code; and an index.

State of Ohio Home Page: Links to a wealth of information about Ohio's legislative branch, but also the executive and judicial branches of Ohio government. Directories of agencies, boards, and commissions, phone numbers for state employees, and more.
Ohio Capitol Connection: Accessible through the library's computers or subscription. Information on the General Assembly's current legislative activities, House and Senate rosters, committees, and more. A searchable database contains legislation back to 1989. There is a Table of Contents ("Library") and a FAQ. Links to the ORC, OAC, and government sites.
Ohio Constitution: Unofficial electronic version of the 1851 Ohio Constitution with Amendments through 1999. The site contains the text of the Preamble, Articles 1-18, and the Schedule, is searchable by keyword.
Ohio Revised Code: The codified laws governing Ohio. Navigation bar displays the Titles (subjects) by which the ORC is organized. Includes a search engine with an advanced search feature. Check the Ohio Session Laws (below) or the Ohio Legislative Service in the library for possible amendments since the date this ORC was last updated.
Ohio Session Laws: The session laws are from the 121st General Assembly [1995-1996] through the 125th General Assembly [2003-2004]. The text of the laws are followed by a list of the Ohio Revised Code sections that are amended or created as a result of the session laws.
Ohio House of Representatives: Information on House leadership. House members can be searched for by last name, district, or zip code. Committee and contact information is provided. Links to the Ohio Revised Code and the General Assembly.
Ohio Senate: Information about Senate leadership, committees, session laws, Senate basics, and Senate history. Locate a Senator by name or district.
Ohio General Assembly: Provides information on current House and Senate sessions, Ohio House, Senate, and general Ohio government history, legislation, legislative agencies, and the Executive and Judicial branches.
Ohio Administrative Code: This site presents the codified rules and regulations administered by Ohio regulatory agencies. Patrons may want to consult the OAC's print index in the library to assist in locating rules. For the most recent rules and regulations, consult the Ohio Monthly Record in the library. Consult the Register of Ohio online for the most recent proposed rules and notices of agency hearings.
Ohio Government Agencies: Links to Ohio government agency Web sites, e-mail addresses, and telephone and fax numbers.
Ohio Telephone Directory: Here is a list of telephone numbers for state agencies; a directory of all agencies, boards, and commissions, a state employee telephone number search; and an entire state employee directory.
Register of Ohio: This site, maintained by the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, provides public notice of Ohio agency rules. It only includes those rules that require public notice. ("Chapter 119 rules")
Ohio Supreme Court: Introduction to the Ohio Judicial system, the Ohio Supreme Court and its Justices. Includes current case summaries, opinions, Ohio Rules of Court, the library's online catalog, and more.
Ohio District Courts of Appeals: Contains opinion from each of the twelve districts except for District 2 and District 10, and district maps.
Ohio Courts (County): Provides links to Ohio District Courts organized by county. Municipal Courts, Courts of Common Pleas, County Courts, Clerk of Courts, Probate Courts, Juvenile Courts, and Domestic Relations Courts are present.
Ohio Court Rules: Anderson's online version of the Ohio Court Rules.
Ohio Democratic Party: Information on candidates for elective offices, events, other Democratic and government Web sites, and opportunities to contribute to the party.
Ohio Republican Party: Information on voting, volunteer opportunities, membership, and news.
Ohio Reform Party: Introduction to the Party, news, links to other Reform Party and government sites, and contact information.
