Consumer and activist organizations are often good information clearinghouses. Try the EnviroLink Library from a group that promotes a sustainable society. Use the search form or select Subjects by Alpha where you will find links to resources for Energy, Alternative Energy, Energy Conservation, specific types of energy and pollution.
Government agencies--regulatory departments and research facilities--are great resources for authoritative information. Here are some of the major sources:
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network at the U.S. Department of Energy. Find information on the various energy technologies and also on the environment. In the consumer section you'll find Fact Sheets on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. (These publications are PDF files and use Adobe Acrobat Reader.)
National Renewable Energy Laboratory. A valuable source for technologies and solutions to energy problems. Clean Energy 101 has basic facts on resources and energy efficiency.
