Bill Nichols was a sportswriter
with the Cleveland Plain Dealer for over 30 years. During
his career, he covered the arrival of the Cavaliers' basketball franchise
in 1970, covered college hoops at both the Division III and Division I
levels, including the CSU Vikings 1985-86 NCAA Sweet Sixteen dream season,
as well as tennis, golf, and harness racing throughout Ohio. He also wrote
commentary about the local sports scene under the banner "Nichols Worth".
