Lakewood Animal Shelter

The Lakewood Animal Shelter is located in the Metroparks behind the water treatment plant.
Animal Shelter/Control services are provided by two Animal Wardens and an Animal Shelter Coordinator.
Services include code enforcement, adoption program for stray animals and wildlife trapping.
Wardens are available for emergencies during off duty hours and can be accessed through the Police Department.

 Animal Control Officer on duty:
Fri. through Mon. 8:00 am to 5:00 pm,
Tues. through Thurs. 8:00 am to 9 pm.

SHELTER HOURS:
Tues. & Thurs. 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Wed., Fri., and Sat. 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm

The APL gives shelter to abandoned and abused animals. Their can assist you in finding
just the right pet to become a new member of your family.

Citizens Committee for a Lakewood Animal Shelter

CCLAS is the Citizens Committee for a Lakewood Animal Shelter, Inc. (CCLAS, pronounced "claws") supports of Lakewood Animal Shelter through fundraising and providing volunteers to help the wardens care for the impounded animals.

Provides humane dog control and care to ensure safety and welfare of people and animals through
professional law enforcement and community relations.
