The History Net... "Where History lives on the net" is a powerful search engine for history sites on the internet.

Inventors are examined at Inventure Place - National Inventors Hall of Fame. Check out the Inventure Place Links!  Search for more biographies of scientists and inventors at these sites: Inventor of the Week Archives, and Spotlight Biography for some excellent brief biographies of famous inventors. Perhaps the most famous inventor of all time was Leonardo da Vinci. Take a look at Exploring Leonardo for a detailed view of his life and work.

Look at a Web sites devoted to the histories of American Inventors and Innovations, Mayan Astronomers, and, Muslim Scientists, Mathematicians and Astronomers. Here is a listing of good sites devoted to African American inventors.

The PBS series "A Science Odyssey" furnished the information for this interactive site which compares what we knew in 1900 versus what we know today.

Here are a few more general links which might help you to identify a topic if you are having trouble doing so.  One interesting invention site is Concoctions & InventionsLearn what it takes to be an Inventor is another good link which acts as a solid starting point for investigation. Another wonderful Web resource is 19th Century Scientific American OnLine.  Here, one can browse articles from several volumes of this prestigious magazine. Also, in the Information Age, what better topic to choose than computers. Take a look at The Computer Museum for a detailed history of the dominant information tool of the period.
