Lakota Sioux

This is my project about the Lakota Sioux and my regalia. The Lakota Sioux made there clothing, food, cups, needles, scraping knives, and sleds out of buffalo. They made their clothing out of buffalo hides but I made my regalia out of fabric that looks something like buffalo hides that they used. They made their needles and scraping knives out of the bones of buffalo. They made their bracelets out of the beads that they got from when they traded from the pioneers. The Sioux live in the what is now Minnesota. The Sioux moved west three hundred years ago. Horses helped them a lot because they could run farther and could hunt more buffalo. The horses were excellent and the Sioux were excellent riders and hunters. They were also good and strong warriors. The Sioux had seven tribes called The Seven Council Fires and The Seven groups shared land for present-day from Minnesota to Montana and Wyoming to Nebraska. The seven groups had there own families that all came together. All of the groups spoke the Lakota Sioux lauguage. The Council lived great distances apart but they could still understand each other. All of the tribes traded with the other tribes and got things back the tribes needed. They used the Black Hills for gatherings and for religious ceremonies. This is some information about the Sioux.
