Look for more information at the Cleveland.com Lakewood community page. You can find some statistics and a little history (in the Profile).

Lakewood Lore Online has articles by local historian Dan Chabek that appeared in the Lakewood Sun Post newspaper. There are articles on pioneer times, on notable residents from early days to the present time, streets, buildings, businesses and institutions. The Main Library has a collection of newspaper articles, pamphlets, and other materials pertaining to Lakewood history in the Local History Files. There are some historical photographs as well. Newspapers: The Library carries the Lakewood Sun Post weekly. Older issues of this paper and earlier weeklies back to 1917 are available on microfilm. There is no index to the paper so you have to know an approximate date. The Library also has local daily newspapers back to 1968. The Cleveland News Index is your key to searching for Lakewood articles in past years.

City Directories: The Main Library has an excellent collection of these directories for all the addresses in Lakewood throughout the past century.
