Everyday, using this phrase, Ev Fertig would start his day as a teacher at Emerson Middle School in Lakewood, Ohio, reaffirming his joy for being a teacher and his passion for life! He passed away suddenly in November 1995. His students and colleagues remember him best for his dependability, his helpfulness to others, and his great sense of humor.

During his teaching career of many years, he taught Industrial Arts, Driver's Education, Industrial Technologies, and Computer Literacy. As an active member of the District Technology Advisory Council, Ev worked tirelessly through curricular changes and spending priorities to get newer technologies into the hands of the students so they could enjoy exploring with it.
