Welcome back to school! I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer. It certainly did go by quickly! We are looking forward to another fun and busy year at Grant, and hope you will join us during the many events we are planning for your children this year.
Our first PTA meeting will be on Tuesday, September 11th, at 9:15am, in the Cafeteria. Everyone is welcome at our meetings, and we would love to see new faces this year. For those who cannot attend morning meetings, we are looking into having some evening recap meetings; dates/times are yet to be determined, but we will do our best to let you know soon.
For anyone wishing to join the PTA this year, the cost is $5. Membership forms/envelopes will be sent home with students soon, or you can always contact any of our board members.
We are changing directions with our fund raisers this year, and will get things started with the new edition of the Entertainment book on September 13th. This will be a quick and very easy way for our students to participate in fund raising for the school, which will help pay for many events that occur during the year (assemblies, dances, classroom parties, after-school events, etc). In November we will have the second phase, the Sally Foster catalog. There will be an assembly then, and materials will be sent home. Your support and help is essential to our continued success in providing these types of activities to the students.
If you would like to volunteer for any of our activities, please know that we would love to see you, and can always use more help. Volunteering your time is a wonderful way to help your children know that school is important. It's also a great way to meet new friends.
