Family Resource Program provides service
The Family Resource Program serves Cuyahoga
County families who have a member with mental 
retardation or a substantial developmental disability
living at home.  Families need not be enrolled in any 
of the other programs operated by the Cuyahoga
County Board of Mental Retardation and 
Developmental Disabilities (CCBMR/DD) to
participate in this program.

The following services are offered:

Respite Care:  Relief from the daily care of a disabled
family member is given either in the family home, the
caregiver's home or an approved respite facility. 
Requests range from a few hours, a full day, a scheduled
vacation or assistance in an emergency.

Special Equipment:  Financial and expert assistance
may be given toward the purchase of special equipment
for a disabled family member.

Home Modification:  Financial assistance may be given 
toward the installation costs of ramps, doorways and other
modifications to help a disabled family member with daily
activities.

Special Diets:  Financial and expert assistance may be 
given toward the use of special dietary preparations or
supplements as prescribed by a physician or qualified 
dietitian.

Counseling, Training and Education:  These support 
services that provide for special family needs are available
to help family members provide the proper care for the
individual with a disability.
