Professionals of America
Business Professionals of America is a youth club for students
enrolled in business occupations. The Club sponsors annual
competitions that recognize achievement and high-level competencies.
This organization provides the opportunity for the development
of leadership skills, personal and professional growth, and career-related
competencies.
FCCLA – Family, Career & Community
Leaders of America
Family, Career & Community Leaders of America is one of the
largest career and technical student organizations in the United
States. It encourages personal growth and leadership development
in teens through family and consumer services in the areas of
personal growth, family life, career and technical preparation
and community involvement.
National
Skills USA/Ohio Skills USA – VICA
National Skills USA/Ohio Skills USA – VICA is a state and
national organization to develop leadership and realistic career
goals and to foster an understanding of the free enterprise system
and involvement in community service activities.
National Technical Honor Society
Membership in the National Technical Honors Society is by invitation
only. Students must be junior or senior and have a 3.25 grade
point average for the prior three grading periods. Students
are inducted each spring. Students may also hold membership
in the National Honor Society at their home schools.
National
Career-Technical Education – Technical
Honor Society
Membership in the National Career-Technical Education-Technical
Honor Society is by invitation only. Students must be a junior
or senior and have a 3.25 grade point average for the prior three
grading periods. Students are evaluated on scholarship, skill
responsibility, citizenship, service, honesty, and leadership.
Students are inducted each spring. Students may also hold membership
in the National Honor Society at their home schools.
Career-Technical
Education Leadership Academy
Leadership Academy is composed of the elected officers of each
of the Career-Technical Educational Student Organizations. Each
of the Career-Technical Education Programs has an active club,
which holds regular meetings during class time. Student groups
are responsible to do a service project within the community
and hold fundraisers for projects aimed at enhancing their Career-Technical
Education learning. Leadership Academy provides Team Building
activities to these groups, as well as, offers a Leadership Award
for qualifying participants. Meeting three or four times a year,
it also provides the officers with guidance in performing their
duties, encourages communication and social skills suitable for
business interactions, and facilitates a connection to one another
and to the activities of the high school.
