This is an opening page for learning the Internet.
The most important thing to know how to do is to "point and click" with your mouse.
An instructor should be with you now to show you how to do this. If not, most people have used a mouse before so the technique should not be new to you.
Just be sure to use only the left hand button on your mouse.
On the Internet, things you see highlighted with an underline are places you click on to go to another page of information.
In this lesson you'll see the "Click Here" phrase many times and in many places, to help you practice clicking and going places. You will follow the "Click Here" trail until you get specific exercises to do different things.
Please don't bother taking notes or printing anything until prompted. You will have all these screens to take away with you at the end of this tutorial.
If you get any error messages or if the machine seems to freeze, please ask the Technology Center staff for assistance.
When you move your mouse on the desk or mousepad, you will see a pointer move on the screen. Move the pointer over the highlighted phrase below and you'll see it change from a pointer to a hand. That means you're on the right position to "click" and go to a new page. Try it now!
