Marianne Matousek Mastics, a resident of Lakewood and
well known hereabouts as a pianist is presently a member of the faculty
of the Cleveland Institute of Music having been appointed there in 1943.
She has been assistant to Leonard Shure with whom she studied at the Chicago
Conservatory of Music. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the
Cleveland Institute of Music and is a pupil of the late Beryl Rubinstein.
Mrs. Mastics also has the Artist Diploma certificate, a special citation
for performers of extraordinary merit, given after three concerts in one
season. She has appeared with the Cleveland "Pops" Symphony,
with the Cleveland Women's Symphony, and has recitaled throughout Northeastern
Ohio. Mrs. Mastics is also heard annually in her recitals at the Cleveland
Institute of Music and in recitals with Marie Simmelink Kraft.
