The six members of the Oberlin Woodwind Ensemble are all students in the Conservatory of Music of Oberlin College. Lucia Yates, from New Jersey is a senior, a flute and music education major; Robert Humiston, Oboist, is a junior from Michigan; Ella Forsythe, clarinetist, is a senior from Pennsylvania; Donald Shelhorn, bassoonist, is a graduate student majoring in piano; June McCord, French Horn, is from Parma, O. Playing piano with the ensemble is Carl Bobbish from Detroit. MR. GEORGE WALN, director of the ensemble, is a nationally-recognized clarinetist and authority on woodwind literature. Mr. Waln organized his first ensemble in 1930. Since then Oberlin's Woodwind Ensembles have toured the country, filling more than 200 engagements.
