Mary Simmons, soprano, has been applauded for her performance
in the Menotti opera "The Consul" presented last season at the
Cleveland Playhouse and for her recent appearance with the Cleveland Orchestra
under Ringwall and the Summer Pops under Louis Lane. She was the recipient
of the Marion Anderson award in 1945-46 and has been soloist with the New
York Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony. Mary Simmons
has studied with Teresa Schnabel in New York. This season she will sing
with the Cleveland orchestra under Igor Stravinsky.
