  • Monday, May 12 - Saturday, August 16

    Feeling sluggish, antsy, or somewhere in-between?  Join the Summer Reading Club and choose to complete 30 books or 30 hours of reading.  Visit the Reading Club table once a week to collect bug stamps and tickets toward prize drawings.  Receive a certificate, a nameplate, and a special reward when you finish the club.

    With the fate of the world at stake, it is up to half-blood hero Percy jackson and super genius/part-time criminal-mastermind Artemis Fowl to save the day.  Discuss the adventures of these two characters and compete in activities to see if the heroes can beat the villains of if the villain can finally come out on top and rule the world! September 27 Let's Get Silly with Capt'n Willie
Arrgh matey!  Get your "pirate-tude" on with Capt'n Willie! Through singing, dancing, humor and games, Capt'n Willie will educate us all on water conservation and safety, and the Great Lakes.  Pirate-wear is encouraged!

October 25 The Kulture Kids Present: "Inside the Outback"
Join us for an evening of stories, songs and games from Australia and New Zealand.  Experience the Waltzing Matilda, the didgeridoo, the Aborigines and the Maori tribes all in one night.

November 22 Family Movie Night: The Aristocats
Meet the cats who know where it is at...for fun, music and adventure in this 1970 Disney animated classic movie.

January 24 Jungle Safari
Have a roaring good time as Katie Bee and Roger Dodger perform puppetry, storytelling, jngle balloon animals, music, magic and much more!

February 28 "Created Equal" Readers' Theater
This year the Children's and Youth Services Department received a "We the People" Bookshelf award from the National Endowment for the Humanities.  This evening is the culmination of an eight-week program involving local 4th-8th graders.  Please join us for their dramatic performances based on their own research and writing.
(This special program takes place in the Main Library Auditorium)

  • ELECTION!: For students 5th through 8th grade
  • Wednesdays, October 1 - November 12 @ 7:00pm - 8:30pm

    Become part of the political machine as you and your team of campaigners create a candidate, establish platforms, write speeches and try to win an election!  The winning team will earn a special breakfast with local political figures.   To register, please stop in or call Main Library (216)-226-8275 ext. 140.
